Miranda K. Brawn, Esq. MBA MCSI

Based in London, Miranda’s primary role is to manage the company’s legal risk across Europe for the derivatives and securities financing business.

Miranda has substantial experience in derivatives and securities financing where she has held many different roles over the past 20 years which include stockbroker, project manager, television broadcaster and front office sales, having also managed teams and clients, at some of the world’s top tier investment banks, including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Bank.   She has also worked for law firms where she has acted as a consultant legal advisor specializing in civil and commercial litigation.  Her broad experience has enabled her to develop a multi-faceted approach by combining both commercial and legal know how.

She has obtained a long list of qualifications which include her Master in Business Administration Degree at Business School, Bar Vocational Course at the University of Law (College of Law), Journalism Diploma at the London School of Journalism and more recently has completed her studies in Political Philosophy at the University of Cambridge.  In addition, she has been Called to the Bar at The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, England.

She serves on several boards and committees within the City of London, such as Women in Banking and Finance Governance Committee, the City Women Network Professional Development Committee and the Association of Women Barristers.  Historically, was elected to act as Chairman of the UJIMA Networking Group at JPMorgan Chase Bank where she founded a mentoring and professional development programme to help with the promotion of black employees at the US Investment Bank.  She has also served as a Derivatives Specialist for the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) helping to construct examination questions.

 Her philanthropy work has included being a “2012 UK Global Poverty Ambassador” in association with Bill Gates which involved working towards the vision of a world without extreme poverty by 2030.  She has also performed pro bono work providing free legal advice, in partnership with Citigroup and Clifford Chance, to various clients of law centres within central London, as well as being a board director for a few charities and not-for-profit organisations.  In addition, she is also an advisory board member and motivational public speaker for Inspirational YOU.

More recently she has become a brand ambassador for The Fold London and a contributing writer for The Glass Hammer which is aimed at senior women within business, finance and the law.

A frequent speaker at various conferences, seminars and on Sky TV, where her radiant smile and articulate mind are recognized as a staple on the various “inspiring women” and “legal” circuits.   Clients have described Miranda as being “intelligent, highly knowlegeable and very personable” and also as “the triple threat of brains, beauty and brawn”.
