José Figueiredo Soares
José Figueiredo Soares is, since September 2012, the EDP Energias de Portugal Group’s Ethics Ombudsman.
Previously, he held technical and managerial positions in the fields of Procurement, Quality and Organizational Excellence, Project Management, Professional Training, Sustainability, among others, mostly in the energy sector.
He is honorary member and past President of the Board of APQ, the Portuguese Association for Quality.
He is also full member of the Portuguese Association of Engineers, where he is elected member of the Assembly of Representatives and lectures on the topics of Ethics and Professional Deontology.
He represented EDP on several institutions, technical committees and working groups, both at national and international levels. More recently (2010-2013), he was member of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)’s Supply Chain Disclosure Working Group.
José Soares was born at Aveiro/Portugal in 1951. He has a degree in telecommunications engineering (IST) and post graduations in quality engineering (UNL/ISQ), management (AESE/IESE Upper Management Program and INSEAD/EDP Top Management Program) and organizational Ethics (Faculty of Human Sciences /UCP Advanced Course on Organizational Ethics).
